Everett Building
The Everett Building was renovated in 1996 and was the first of a series of buildings in Akron regenerated by the Historic Management Company. The structure sits on the corner of Main Street and Market Street-- a site that has always represented the convergence of commerce and culture in Akron. In the late 1800s, the Everett Building was a nucleus of cultural activity, housing Akron's Academy of Music where performers such as Buffalo Bill and opera singer Sarah Bernhardt drew in large crowds. The structure is now used as the corporate headquarters for Huntington Bank.
